Our Path

1991  - 
Owner Mike Weagley begins doing custom fabrication work from his shop at home in Henrietta, NY.

1992  -
Mike moves operations to 2,000 sq ft facility on Western Drive in Henrietta, NY.  On July 1st, 1992 Pro-Tech Welding and Fabrication is established and incorporated.

1993  -
Pro-Tech builds its first Sno Pusher for use on loaders.

1994  -
Pro-Tech moves to a new 3,000 sq ft facility on Saginaw Drive in Henrietta, NY.

1995  -
Manufacturing of a complete Sno Pusher line begins with a first run of 40 pushers.  The custom fabrication business continues to also grow.

1996  -
Pro-Tech launches marketing campaign and sets up distribution for its newly designed Sno Pusher and introduces the skidsteer model.  Mike Weagley applies for patent on this new design.

1997  -
Due to the overwhelming success of the Sno Pusher Pro-Tech moves to a new location, a 30,000 sq ft facility on West Ave in Rochester, NY.

1998  -
Pro-Tech offers a backhoe and fold out model.  Improvements to the manufacturing process are implemented.  Pro-Tech establishes itself as a leading welding and fabrication job shop in the Rochester area.  On March 10, 1998 Patent 755 is issued for the Pro-Tech Sno Pusher.

1999
 -
Sno Pusher production explodes.  As Pro-Tech continues to expand, its custom fabrication and structural steel division also rapidly grows.

2000  -
On November 1, 2000 Pro-Tech Manufacturing and Distribution and Pro-Tech of Rochester are established.  The custom fabrication and Sno Pusher production are split into separate entities.  Pro-Tech of Rochester is the parent company.

2001  -
Pro-Tech hires a VP of Sales and Marketing and dramatically expands its distribution channel in the United States and Canada.

2002
 -
Pro-Tech continues to increase sales and production of its Sno Pusher products.  A new Sno Pusher model is introduced for compact tractors.

2003
 -
Pro-Tech continues to be the market share leader even as competitors emerge.  Quality, price, and availability becomes Pro-Tech's montra.

2004
 -
Pro-Tech completely retools the production process and begins R&D for steel edge containment plows.

2005
 -
Pro-Tech unveils its newest product, the Switchblade to strong market reception. The unit's design allows users to choose the type of cutting edge (rubber or steel) to use based on weather and lot conditions. 

2006
 -
The IST (Ice-Scraping Technology) Sno Pusher hits the market! Pro-Tech designed it for conditions where a steel trip edge would be used, BUT moved the category forward with our IST by eliminating the use of mechanical springs or hinges that tend to breakdown over time. Instead, the IST Sno Pusher uses a urethane technology that give you the reliability and simplicity of a rubber edge Sno Pusher - WITH the benefits of a steel scraping edge.

2007
 -
Pro-Tech continues to make improvements to its facility while maintaining strong marketshare in both Sno Pusher production and custom fabrication jobs.

2008
 -
Pro-Tech makes improvements to the IST design and incorporates these changes into the existing models.  The total number of units in the overall product mix reaches a new height.

2010
 -
Pro-Tech launches a comprehensive business plan to steer and guide the company for the next decade.  Pro-Tech defines quality, availability, and price as "Proven Value" and incorporates this formula into the business plan.

2011  -
Pro-Tech revitalizes its focus on product development and plans to bring new innovation to the industry for 2012 and beyond.  The Sno Blade, Sno Broom, and Sno Blower are introduced.
